Quick answer
A Graveyard Keeper 2 week has six days in this order:
- 1
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5
- 6
The most important early schedule rules are: battles on Sloth, zombie Resurrection on Envy, Town/trader weekly resets around Pride, and sermons on Wrath. Once
corpse delivery begins, the donkey visits on Gluttony, Lust and Pride days.
One in-game day is about 7.5 real minutes, so missing a weekly event can mean waiting roughly another 45 minutes of normal game time.
Why the calendar matters
Many Graveyard Keeper 2 systems do not happen whenever you feel like using them.
You can have:
a ready Barracks;
a new prayer;
a completed Supply Crate;
and still be blocked because today is the wrong day.
That is why progression sometimes looks bugged when the game is actually waiting for a specific weekly icon.
How the week works
GK2 has six days rather than seven.
A new day starts at midnight. Most day-specific systems become active shortly after the day begins and close near the next midnight.
Sleeping does not skip the underlying simulation safely. The whole world continues at greatly accelerated speed while you sleep:
clocks advance;
crafting continues;
crops progress;
buffs expire;
weekly events can begin and end.
You can absolutely sleep through something important.
Day 1 — Gluttony
Later progression ties Gluttony to the PR Machine.
Even earlier, it matters because this is one of the normal
corpse-delivery days once the donkey route is active.
The usual delivery days are:
If your morgue is full, the corpse system may not behave the way you expect, so clear body capacity before the next delivery window.
For corpse handling, see Red and White Skulls Explained.
Day 2 — Sloth
Sloth is the main battle day.
After the first story fight, most later battles can be launched on Sloth.
Before it arrives, prepare by:
- 1
finishing Barracks upgrades;
- 2
- 3
- 4
preparing battle consumables;
- 5
The first battle is an exception, which is why players often miss the day restriction afterward.
See Combat and Zombie Squads Guide.
Day 3 — Lust
Lust is mostly important as the setup for Resurrection.
Near the end of Lust day, the Resurrection device recharges so it can be used on the following day.
It is also another normal donkey delivery day.
A good Lust-day routine is to:
choose collars;
press Prepare on your Resurrection Tables.
Then Envy day becomes a quick activation rather than a rush to finish preparation.
Day 4 — Envy
Envy is Resurrection day.
The central device in the Resurrection Lab works on this day if it is charged.
Because the activation can affect all prepared tables, it is efficient to prepare multiple
corpses before Envy rather than raising workers one at a time.
If the device will not work, check:
the current day;
whether each corpse is prepared;
collar requirements;
whether the week's charge was already used.
See How to Resurrect a Zombie.
Day 5 — Pride
Pride is a major economic and Town day.
This part of the weekly cycle includes things such as:
weekly trader Happiness resets;
Town trading cycles;
Town Order activity;
another possible donkey delivery.
If you are actively developing the Town, it is useful to organize your production around Pride.
For example:
- 1
prepare crates in advance;
- 2
- 3
- 4
- 5
use fresh weekly trader limits.
See How Town Orders Work and How to Make Money.
Day 6 — Wrath
Wrath is sermon day.
After the church is open, your normal weekly service can be held once per week here.
Sermons matter because they provide both:
Faith then feeds Inspirations, research and Milestone activation.
Miss Wrath and the next ordinary sermon is another full six-day cycle away.
See Faith and Inspirations Explained.
When does the donkey bring corpses?
Once normal
corpse delivery is active, the donkey follows three days:
Actual delivery still depends on the state of the corpse system and available room.
If your morgue is completely full, do not be surprised when the next delivery does not work the way you expected.
Can you sleep through an important event?
Yes.
Sleep accelerates time; it does not pause weekly mechanics.
If you go to bed late on Wrath, the sermon window can end while you are asleep.
The same principle applies to other scheduled systems.
If you only want to save but an important weekly event is currently available, do the event first and sleep afterward.
See Save File Location and Backups.
How to remember the week without a spreadsheet
You do not need to optimize every minute.
Remember four anchors:
Sloth → battle
Envy → Resurrection
Pride → Town/trader reset
Wrath → sermon
Then associate Gluttony, Lust and Pride with normal donkey delivery days.
After a few cycles the icons become much easier to read.
Fast travel prevents missed events
As the map grows, walking can consume a large chunk of a day.
Milestones let you quickly return to:
the Barracks;
home;
the Town;
other important systems.
That becomes especially useful when the current weekly event is already running.
See How to Fast Travel.
What should you check before the end of the week?
Before Wrath, it is useful to ask:
do I have enough Happiness for a good sermon?
am I using my best available prayer?
is any urgent Town task unfinished?
do I need to unlock a travel point?
how much
Faith will I need after the sermon?
After the service, the cycle effectively begins again with fresh Faith and another week of planned progression.
FAQ
How long is one day?
Roughly 7.5 real minutes at normal speed.
How long is a full week?
Six days, roughly 45 real minutes without sleep acceleration.
Does sleeping safely skip time?
No. The world keeps running quickly and weekly events can pass while you sleep.
Why can't I start a battle today?
After the first battle, most later fights wait for Sloth day.
Why is my Resurrection Table ready but nothing happens?
The actual activation uses the Resurrection device on Envy day.
When can I hold a sermon?
Normally once per week on Wrath after the church is unlocked.
